Daisy and Alec attend a performance of Verdi's Requiem at the Royal Albert Hall, only to see the mezzo-soprano, Daisy's neighbour, drop dead on the stage. Taking charge, Alec finds evidence of poison, but who could want to kill the beautiful blonde with the glorious voice? Lots of people, it turns out, including the bass and tenor soloists, the leader and conductor of the orchestra, and another mezzo who wanted the part. Offering her neighbourly sympathy to the victim's sister, Daisy is drawn into the investigation.
